Welcome to the Caterpillar Cross Stitch 'Stitcher of the Month' competition for March 2019 where the winner will come away with a £20 gift voucher! I love this community we've built together and I want to showcase the personality and story of a special stitcher each month.
Every one of you is so valued and I want to recognise and celebrate your contributions through this monthly giveaway. On the first day of every month, I'll ask for your nominations. You can nominate yourself or someone else.
Simply email me at email@example.com with your full name, email address and include a photo of some recent stitching. Don't hold back! Let us hear about your personality, background and experience with stitching. Where you're from, how you started stitching and why you love it!
The winner will receive a £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher and have their work shared on social media, our website and in the next email! At the end of each month, the Caterpillar Cross Stitch team will pick one winner based on the set criteria: creativity, interesting story, enjoyment and passion for cross stitch and overall impression. The winner will be contacted by email and will be interviewed for our blog and social media channels.
And now on to our WINNER for March 2019!... Congratulations Tegan Preston!
Tegan says: I'm a single parent to a 3 year old and I was increasingly finding myself after my son's bedtime just languishing in front of the TV munching junk food. Not at all good for my mental or physical health. I decided I needed a hobby to keep my mind engaged and to feel like I had something that was just for me, beyond parenting.
My grandmother taught me to cross stitch when I was little and I thought it was the perfect thing to have another go at. I recently completed the first piece I've been working on, a fun Star Wars pixel art. I'm so pleased with the final product that I even went out and bought an iron so that I could press it!
I'm now getting stuck into my second project. I've decided to jump in at the deep end with a huge piece on 25ct evenweave but I know many, many hours of joy and frustration are ahead! I know I'm only a new stitcher but cross stitching has really helped me over the last month, not only through the fun of doing it but also finding like minded people to engage and chat with about it.
Single parenting can be lonely at times and being able to chat with people in cross stitch groups like yours is a real lifeline.
If you too would like to join the Facebook group, please click HERE. Well done Tegan, your £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher is on its way to you! Thank you for all of your wonderful entries - it was tough to pick a winner as they were all so lovely to read with some amazing stitching shown! Nominations are now open for our April Stitcher of the Month - I can't wait to see them!
