Welcome to the Caterpillar Cross Stitch 'Stitcher of the Month' competition for December 2019 where the winner will walk away with a £20 gift voucher! I love this community we've built together and I want to showcase the personality and story of a special stitcher each month.
Every one of you is so valued and I want to recognise and celebrate your contributions through this monthly giveaway. On the first day of every month, I'll ask for your nominations. You can nominate yourself or someone else.
Simply email me at info@caterpillarcrossstitch.com with your full name, email address and include a photo of some recent stitching. Don't hold back! Let us hear about your personality, background and experience with stitching. Where you're from, how you started stitching and why you love it!
The winner will receive a £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher and have their work shared on social media, our website and in the next email! At the end of each month, the Caterpillar Cross Stitch team will pick one winner based on the set criteria: creativity, interesting story, enjoyment and passion for cross stitch and overall impression. The winner will be contacted by email and will be interviewed for our blog and social media channels.
And now on to our WINNER for December 2019... Congratulations Yolanda!
Yolanda says:
Hi, I'm Yolanda Vico-Tienda and I'd love to show you the last project I finished and its also one of the biggest that I have ever done!... 3 sardines in a tin. I've turned it into a cushion!
I consider myself very active, a DIY lover and with a persistent attitude. I am from Catalonia but since July 2019, I have been living in Scotland. The funny thing is that I started cross stitch classes when I was a teenager and I hated it. That was until last year when my mother-in-law taught me again in a simple and neat way, without knots!
And surprise surprise, I'm now a total fan of cross stitch and I can't wait to finish a project without having the next one in mind! It makes me feel peaceful and it lets my have my 'me time.'
It has turned it into a mindfulness moment. Even I have discovered I can cross stitch in the car, on the bus and even on a plane without being dizzy! Can you believe it?
The last cross stitch project that I have done is a needle case for a friend with a Mackintosh pattern and now I'm working on a set of 3 towels for my mother with a DMC pattern.
But if I have to speak about a special one, it would have to be the house cushion with a Cath Kidston pattern that I did during the recovery of my husband when he broke his leg. I just finished it when he finished his rehab.
If you would like to join over 4,800 stitchers in the Facebook group, please click HERE. Well done Yolanda, your £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher is on its way to you! Thank you for all of your wonderful entries - it was tough to pick a winner as they were all so lovely to read with some amazing stitching shown! Nominations are now open for our January 2020 Stitcher of the Month - I can't wait to see them!
