So you remember back in October 2018 when I was asking for your votes in the British Craft Awards? We only went and WON! I'm still coming down to Earth I think.
What an honour to be, not only shortlisted alongside some of my favourite inspirational craft brands, but to come away with the award for Stitch Designer of the Year 2019! I was also massively thrilled to come 2nd for Stitch Brand and 3rd for Stitch Retailer of the Year!
The awards were held at the CHSI Show at the NEC, Birmingham on Sunday 17th February 2019. Organised by Immediate Media and hosted by John Scott from TV's Sewing Quarter. Brands were celebrated from all corners of the craft industry from knitting to crochet, papercraft to stitching.
It took a little while to find the exact suite as I always forget how big the NEC actually is, but after a mad dash in my 'posh heels', we made it by the skin of our teeth. A quick canape and a couple of glasses of champagne later and it all started. The room was packed and atmosphere buzzing with everyone waiting to hear the results. When my name was called, I felt like I was walking so slowly, a very surreal experience, and just kept thinking 'don't trip!' but when I watched the video back, I zoomed up those steps, grabbed the award and was off like a shot! Ha.
There will be a full overview of the awards with the results, photos and quotes from winners in the next Cross Stitch Crazy magazine edition. But for now, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for this award. It honestly means so much to me and its an honour it is to receive this recognition from you, the stitchers. Here is a full list of the winners from Designer and Brand of the Year.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your votes and continued support. I love this community and I'll carry on working hard to bring you exciting new projects!
Happy stitching!

Crafting isn’t just about making something beautiful (although that certainly is a huge advantage!), it’s also about finding something that makes you happy, calms your mind and brings you a sense of enjoyment and accomplishment.
For neurodiverse people, crafts can offer amazing benefits, from improved focus and confidence to reduced stress and anxiety.
