Welcome to the Caterpillar Cross Stitch 'Stitcher of the Month' competition for June 2020 where the winner will walk away with a £20 gift voucher! I love this community we've built together and I want to showcase the personality and story of a special stitcher each month.
Every one of you is so valued and I want to recognise and celebrate your contributions through this monthly giveaway. On the first day of every month, I'll ask for your nominations. You can nominate yourself or someone else.
Simply email us at info@caterpillarcrossstitch.com with your full name, email address and include a photo of some recent stitching. Don't hold back! Let us hear about your personality, background and experience with stitching (at least 300 words please). Where you're from, how you started stitching and why you love it!
The winner will receive a £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher and have their work shared on social media, our website and in the next email! At the end of each month, the Caterpillar Cross Stitch team will pick one winner based on the set criteria: creativity, interesting story, enjoyment and passion for cross stitch and overall impression. The winner will be contacted by email and will be interviewed for our blog and social media channels.
And now on to our WINNER for June 2020... Congratulations Anya!
Anya says:
Hi, my name is Anya Harris and I literally just discovered cross stitching when this whole shelter in place hit (so a few months!) Since then I’ve scoured a bunch of YouTube videos (including from Caterpillar Cross Stitch) and completed a few projects. They are pretty small kits but I’m so proud of them!
Here’s a little Hula girl I just did so I can look forward to going to Hawaii in October for my best friend's wedding (where I’ll be a bridesmaid!) I love cross stitching because I find stitching so meditative and relaxing and the patterns are so beautiful. There’s such a sense of accomplishment when you’re done too!
I’m really enjoying meeting other cross stitchers all over the world. Everyone’s been so nice. I live in the Bay Area and have a 5 month old son, married and with a pup.
I’ve been to London twice and my top two things I did (if I had to narrow it down) was afternoon tea at Claridges and visiting Borough Market. The photo is of me at Disneyland in 2019 when I was 8 months pregnant! I gave birth 3 weeks after this photo was taken as my son born was a month early!
The project shown below, I plan to give to my husband for our 5 year wedding anniversary in July 2020. He’s a big Yoda and Star Wars fan!
I love to stitch colorful pieces with fun sayings, things that remind me of fond memories or something I can give to someone. My problem with stitching so far, is wanting to stitch all the time but not having enough time in the day to do it! I end up doing it late at night after my son goes to sleep. I love stitching and seeing him sleep in the bassinet near me. Ultimate happiness.
The only tips I have for others is to have fun and don’t worry about the mistakes! Cross stitching has really helped me clear my mind as it’s so meditative. I really need that during this time with the lockdown and overall civil unrest. Beyond the Stitch-a-Long, Positivity Rules, I have the fun fair cross stitch kit, Enjoy the Ride lined up and I really want to try stitching on 16 count aida - I’ve only done 14 previously! I’m so glad I’ve discovered this new hobby.

Thank you for all of your wonderful entries - it was tough to pick a winner as they were all so lovely to read with some amazing stitching shown! Nominations are now open for our July 2020 Stitcher of the Month - I can't wait to see them!
