Welcome to the Caterpillar Cross Stitch 'Stitcher of the Month' competition for September 2019 where the winner will walk away with a £20 gift voucher! I love this community we've built together and I want to showcase the personality and story of a special stitcher each month.
Every one of you is so valued and I want to recognise and celebrate your contributions through this monthly giveaway. On the first day of every month, I'll ask for your nominations. You can nominate yourself or someone else.
Simply email me at info@caterpillarcrossstitch.com with your full name, email address and include a photo of some recent stitching. Don't hold back! Let us hear about your personality, background and experience with stitching. Where you're from, how you started stitching and why you love it!
The winner will receive a £20 Caterpillar Cross Stitch gift voucher and have their work shared on social media, our website and in the next email! At the end of each month, the Caterpillar Cross Stitch team will pick one winner based on the set criteria: creativity, interesting story, enjoyment and passion for cross stitch and overall impression. The winner will be contacted by email and will be interviewed for our blog and social media channels.

First of all, I want to say that this is a brilliant idea and creative way to get to know your fellow stitchers and fans. Next onto the fun part, my nomination is for my mum, Annie Dellar.
Mum was the one who taught me to do the majority of my hobbies and crafts. My main ones being cross stitching and knitting, both of which she taught me to do. My mum taught me to knit whilst I was in hospital in my late teens for almost 9 months solid with medical problems and mum was there with me the whole time, being patient, kind and teaching me all the techniques of knitting. We did it together through the ups and downs and I can't thank her enough.
My mum also taught me to cross stitch over the years. She's taught me right from being a beginner to stitching very intricate patterns that we love to do together. We did the Caterpillar Cross Stitch Christmas stitch-a-long 2018 which was when I was first introduced to this brand. We love the simplicity of the patterns that gives us a break from the more intricate ones we do.
Above is a photo of my mum, Annie (left) and my nan, May (right). This piece was cross stitched for my nan but she sadly passed away on her birthday in May 2019. Nanny named the owl in this piece, Boris. She was so happy and chuffed as you can see in the photo.
